American-made microphone company, Ear Trumpet Labs (ETL), announces a partnership with the premier roots music and lifestyle hub, The Bluegrass Situation, for a series of videos to be released starting in February 2016. The Portland Series will feature ETL’s handcrafted microphones alongside some of the genre’s most acclaimed artists, kicking off with Billy Strings and Don Julin. Set in picturesque Portland, OR, the workshop headquarters of ETL, the videos are the perfect preview of spring to get viewers through the winter months, while also enjoying some high quality music.
The partnership is a natural fit, as both brands have a focus on an American-made lifestyle and handmade products. ETL’s microphones are the brainchild of Philip Graham, who strived to create a unique product that was both visually and aurally stunning. As a company they pride themselves on delivering studio quality sound to a live setting, which is exemplified in the performance series.
With just two instruments (guitar and mandolin) and one voice, American Roots duo Billy Strings and Don Julin have been tearing up stages across America and generating huge buzz based on their intense live shows and most recent release Fiddle Tune X. The Bluegrass Situation has called the duo “the unholy child of Pantera and Tony Rice” and their performance in this video is not to be missed.
New videos in the series will be released every two weeks, beginning Tuesday, February 2, with a diverse group of artists to be announced. There will also be a contest opportunity at the end of the series for fans to vote on their favorite video for a chance to win an ETL microphone.
